October Wrap-Up, Novermber TBR

October was a decent little month this year. There was lots of work to do, but I managed to finish three books (and one long poem The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes – that Goodreads counted as a book, yay!)

I'm glad I picked a theme for this October – witches and wichcraft – because my reading materials sort of set the atmosphere for the end of the month which we are awaiting eagerly each year (despite the fact there is no trick or treating in my country, I just love Halloween and everything to do with it).

On Halloween night we switched my chain of pumpkin lights on, lit a candle, watched Sleepy Hollow and ate Halloween chocolate. I know it's not much but it was nice (also, it was the first time I saw the Tim Burton movie, and yeah... it was definitely worth to watch).

On November 10 we are planning to go on a trip with my friend (the one who came home from England recently), I'm looking forward to that a lot.

I really hope my reading month will be at least as good as October was, since the end of the year is coming and I still haven't finished my Goodreads challenge.

Here is a summary of October on Paradise Found:

September Wrap-Up, October TBR

October is here!! *happy dance*

The leaves are already changing colours outside and Halloween is a mere month away. This is my favourite time of the year (besides Christmas).

It's wonderful to live together with my other half and to have some routine in my life at last. I still miss the adventure I had in London sometimes, but I learned to appreciate what I have here and I think I made a good decision when I stayed at home.

September started with a challenge for me at the workplace, because I got promoted to an English/Spanish speaker agent, which means now I have to use my Spanish too sometimes. I've been learning the language since I was a teen but never really had to use it much, so now I have to grow up to the task. I'm watching some series in Spanish and will pick up some books written in Spanish too from now on to practice. Wish me luck!

September was a much better reading month for me than August had been, I finished 3 books (almost four, I got to the end of The Crucible today but that doesn't count because it is the 1st of October already, ugh).

I'm hoping to be bewitched this October by my reading list. See what books I'm planning to read at the end of this post!

August Wrap-Up, September TBR

August was a busy month for me, the number of books I managed to read shows that pretty clearly.

Anyways, this previous month was about moving and settling down, starting a new exciting life and, naturally, that began with packing, organizing, doing lots of shopping and stuff.

I'm hoping in September I'll be able to chill a bit and read more, watch more tv shows and just generally enjoy autumn, my favourite season of the year. I can't wait for the wather to turn a bit cooler to create the perfect autumn feel...

I already can't wait for Halloween... But let's not jump ahead, let's enjoy September first. And without further ado, please see the summary of the month of August on the blog below!

June Wrap-Up, July TBR

As most of you know by now in the end of May I landed a job after a couple of months of search for a suitable one. June has been a challenging month for me, in the sense that I had to learn many new procedures, absorb a lot of information. But here I am, fully functioning, doing my tasks with more and more confidence at my new workplace, which is great.

Since I acquired a full time job I've lost some of my reading time, and it shows. I could only finish 3 books instead of my usual 4 in June. I guess it's not that bad, considering that I had a lot on my plate recently. I'll do my best to catch up with my reading in July.

My heart broke hearing the Timeless cancellation news. Losing this show is like losing friends for me. I'm hoping against all hope that the creators will at least consider bringing it back as a book/comic book series, I'd read the hell out of Timeless novels if the existed. They say we might still get a movie but I'm not very positive we will. I will never watch an NBC show ever again, that is for sure.

In the end of July me and my boyfriend will travel to London to attend the London Film & Comic Con. I'm very excited, I've been there once in 2016 and it was a pretty special experience. I'll be happy to share it with my beau this time.

Here is a summary of June on Paradise Found:

I've finished three books:

May Wrap-Up, June TBR

Summer is here folks and I'm wishing for fall (the weather is too hot for my liking already). But let's not jump ahead so fast. I'm hopeful that this is going to be a really good summer, filled with events and trips that I'm already looking forward to.

In the month of June my focus will probably solely directed on work though. Since I'm new at the company I'll have a lot to learn this month, but hey... you gotta start somewhere.

I'm still trying to figure out a reading routine that could work now that 8 hours are taken from my day. During the training weeks I'll probably have some extra studying to do at home too, but I'll do my best to be efficent and I'll make sure to leave myself time to relax with a good book after the hard work.

I really hope I can finish at least 4 books this month too. One of these books will be a play (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf by Edward Albee), which makes my life easier because I usually fly through plays.

I'm very excited to join my fellow Clockblockers in a read-along of Mrs. Sherlock Holmes by Brad Ricca. Some people had the amazing idea to start a Timeless book club (in which we read books that are related to the tv show in some way) and this is the first title that we'll discuss. I can't wait to learn more about Grace Humiston, badass female detective of the 1910s.

Here's a summary of May on Paradise Found:

Nothing But Sky by Amy Trueblood Review

Hello Lovelies!

Another hard month is behind us in this surreal world we're currently living in. I hope you're all holding up okay and staying safe.

I don't have work at the moment, since air traffic is basically non-existent during the virus and thus I was put on standby for a month. To be honest I'm not sure if the situation will be better in May, but I'm hoping for a miracle.

I'm trying to do my best with the big amount of spare time I suddenly have on my hands. Of course I'm reading a lot, doing a puzzle and working on my diamond painting I started months ago but never had time to finish. From time to time I go out to play frisbee with my younger brothers or we just have a walk.

Bad news that I still didn't manage to conceive (we've been trying for 10 months now and it's worse and worse to face the failure at the end of each month). But May is a blank page and therefore a new possibility. Fingers crossed.

Good news that we'll be cat parents soon!!! My colleague's cat has had kittens recently and we'll adopt one in the beginning of June. I'm very excited for the new member of the family. I've never had a kitty, according to my mum she'll be spoiled. Tell me if you have any good name ideas for a girl cat!

And now onto what happened on the blog last month...
